Year in Review
2018 marked Civic Duty's third year in operation. We added a regional division in Florida, expanded our regional initiatives, and registered and mobilized young voters as part of "I am the Key" in time for the 2018 midterm elections. Take a look at what we have been able to do this past year!
CD Rice Voter Registration
January to March 2018
In preparation for the Texas primary elections in March, Civic Duty hosts several voter registration drives across the Houston area.
CD South Bend registers voters at AAA Casino Night

In partnership with APIAVote's Ambassador Program, Civic Duty South Bend registers voters at the Asian American Association of Notre Dame's winter casino night.
Texas Primary Election Day
March 6, 2018
Civic Duty Rice registers over 100 voters by election day as well as hosting several candidate forums and GOTV phone banking.
"Civic Duty and Me" Begins
April 8, 2018
Civic Duty Rice begins a regional initiative, "Civic Duty and Me" in order to allow Rice students to share what civic duty means to them. New episodes to their podcast, intheloop, are also released.

Indiana Primary Election Day

Primary elections take place in Indiana. Civic Duty South Bend hosted voter registration drives and outreach events to mobilize young voters on campus and in the community.
Civic Duty Florida Created

Regional Divisions at the University of Florida and the University of Miami are consolidated to create Civic Duty Florida.

Houston Youth Voters Conference
Civic Duty Rice hosts the Houston Youth Voters Conference, a first of its kind event to bring together local area college students together to discuss public policy issues and mobilize young voters in time for the midterm elections.

National Voter Registration Day
On national voter registration day, Civic Duty regional divisions did just that. CD South Bend Regional Director, Steven Higgins, also spoke at the Civil Rights Heritage Center about the importance of the youth vote.
Assembly for Action Starts
October 12, 2018
Civic Duty Florida hosts the first ever, Assembly for Action, a community service conference that granted over $30,000 dollars to students and their service project proposals.

Converge at ND Launched
Civic Duty South Bend partners with campus organizations to create Converge at ND, a social initiative that pairs students with opposing political views for a discussion with a goal to address hyper-partisanship.
Election Day 2018

When election day rolled around, Civic Duty registered over 500 voters across our regional divisions, created candidate information material, and hosted voter engagement events as part of "I am the Key."
