Steven Higgins is a junior political science major with minors in business economics and the Hesburgh Program in Public Service from Montgomery, Alabama. He hopes to work on political campaigns and eventually go to law school to work on voting rights issues. He joined Civic Duty South Bend to work on this issue.
Deputy Regional Director
Michael O’Dea is a junior at the University of Notre Dame studying biological sciences with a concentration in neurobiology. Michael is strongly interested in the intersection of science and public policy and believes that civic competency and participation in younger generations are critically important for effective future governance. Because of this, Michael is committed to engaging young people with government through our efforts here at Civic Duty.
James Moremen is the Treasurer of Civic Duty South Bend and originally from Louisville, Kentucky. In high school, James was a member of his Youth and Government Team. At Notre Dame, James is a German tutor and has studied abroad in Berlin, Munich, and Heidelberg. He hopes to spread his love for the state of Indiana as part of Civic Duty.
Zach Serikow is the Secretary of Civic Duty South Bend and native to the northern Indiana region. He is a sophomore studying physics and aims to attend graduate school in the subject. Prompted by a lack of youthful engagement in the region he lives in, he joined Civic Duty South Bend to aid in teaching the youth that their awareness and involvement with the government are pivotal for success as informed members of society.
